Adam Internet Pty Ltd has recruited 24 new staff to its Adelaide based office, sourcing all locally in an expression of state solidarity.
“While other organisations may look to increase resources interstate or overseas, as a South Australian based company, we feel it is important to recruit from the local community,” says Greg Hicks, Executive Chairman.
“This not only supports local employment and the local economy, but we believe enables us to provide a better service to our customers.”
Adam, the last remaining South Australian-owned ISP, provides internet and communication services to residents and businesses within SA. Adam Internet operates solely from South Australia, employing local people to serve local customers.
Adam says the recruitment drive is “not just looking to increase numbers, but has been careful to select the right people to complement the existing, highly skilled team”.
Many of Adam Internet recruits have a personal interest in Communications and IT, with some of the new recruits also coming from within the industry. Adam Internet believes this passion and experience enables them to provide a better service to their customers.
Adam notes the commitment and motivation of its staff which is evident in the Customer Service Centre, where employee is only 4%. According to the 2011 Australian Contact Centre Industry Benchmarking Report, Call Centres within Australia typically have an employee turnover of 40% - 44%.
“The leadership team at Adam Internet have worked hard to build a culture based on passion, motivation and reward,” Greg says.
“We are proud of the commitment and tenure of our staff and we encourage staff to look for new opportunities within the company. We believe this is not just reflected by our staff loyalty, but more importantly in their commitment to our customers.”
Planning the launch of new services, Adam Internet is expecting continued growth, which may lead to further investment within South Australia.
