Beattie Transport Group has opened a new administrative and operations hub in Cavan.

Beattie Transport Group incorporates parent company MB Logistics, Beattie Transport and All Trans Heavy haulage.

MD Malcolm Beattie told The Advertiser the 400 square metre facility would support Beattie Group long-term growth due to demand from mining projects. The firm has recently supported Hillgrove Resources' Kanmantoo copper mine establishment, Chevron's Gorgon liquefied natural gas project and the Peculiar Knob iron-ore mine on the Eyre Peninsula

The Cavan premises will also accommodate training facilities.

Malcolm said Beattie Group has about 60 direct employees and 100 contractors and plans to double its workforce by the end of 2014.
