Adam Internet has committed to Santos Tour Down Under sponsorship for a further two years.
The two-year agreement cements Adam Internet as the official ISP of the Tour, providing web hosting and internet connectivity to the administration, organisers and media for the event.
“We are privileged to be supporting such a major event for Adelaide and SA. As SA’s very own ISP we always welcome opportunities where we can support the local community and businesses,” says Greg Hicks, Executive Chairman and founder.
“This event attracts thousands of spectators from SA, interstate and overseas; it is a great event to put Adelaide and South Australia on the world stage.”
At this year’s event, Adam Internet will not only be providing internet services, but will also take part in many of the activities scheduled as part of the Tour.
Adam Internet will be providing a casual seating area at the new Adelaide City Council Bike Expo in Victoria Square, with free wi-fi.
Located at the Adam Internet big yellow bus and close to The Hilton Adelaide refreshment stand, all visitors are welcome to take a seat and relax while checking out the latest on the tour, their emails or simply updating their status.
“We have worked with the South Australian Tourism Commission for a number of years by providing web hosting and internet connectivity to support this and other major events,” Greg says.
“This year, we also wanted to create an environment where the general public could sit and relax, catch up with emails and check out updates from the tour.
“We hope this area encourages people to use the Bike Expo and use their own devices to find out what is going with the tour and other events in Adelaide and SA.”
Adam Internet is also helping to raise funds for the official charity, Cancer Council SA.
Eighteen members of Team Adam will ride for a reason as part of the Bupa Challenge Tour. The challenge takes part on Friday 20 January and enables keen cyclists to complete Stage 4 of the Santos Tour Down Under. With three different starting points, participants are cycling distances from 33km to 138km.
Adam Internet has been encouraging their riders, staff, customers and general public to support Cancer Council SA and sponsor the team.
Adam Internet also has Cancer Council SA collection boxes in their offices and will have more at their stands in Victoria Square, Rymill Park and Elder Park.
To support Cancer Council SA and Team Adam, please go to http://sa.cancercouncilfundraising.org.au and search for Team Adam via ‘Search for a rider’, or visit Adam Internet at one of their stands during the tour.
“As part of our commitment to the SA community, we are proud to be supporting Cancer Council SA and Ride for a reason,” Greg says.
“Unfortunately, too many people are touched by cancer each year. We are pleased to help build awareness and raise funds to help cure this terrible disease. Members of Team Adam have been working hard in not only their training, but also to raise vital funds for this charity.
“In addition, staff members have been filling collection boxes located around our office and will be hosting a casual day with all proceeds going to Cancer Council SA. I want to applaud all the Team Adam members for taking part in this challenge.”
