Venture Capital SA will deliver a new seminar series on creating value through intellectual property.

The seminar will provide case studies of two successful start-up businesses in Adelaide which have progressed from a basic idea to listing on the ASX.

Speakers from both companies talk briefly about the role IP played in the early stages of their companies’ development, in particular about how IP helped attract and retain investors and the importance of having even a basic understanding of the complex issues of IP.

Warren Buffet’s counter-cyclical approach to business is marking him not only as the world’s richest man but also one of its wisest, according to Roger Ellis of Dale Carnegie Training.

Atlas Chem-Dry Directors Paul Addison and Karen Raymond flew in from Hawaii on Sunday after presenting the 2009 International Chem-Dry Franchise of the Year award to Finesse Chem-Dry in the UK.

The Prospect franchise held the title for 2008. The international convention was attended by 200 franchisees from the US, UK, Denmark, Canada and Australia.

Only twice have Australian franchises won the award in 30 years of Chem-Dry. Adelaide franchise, Chem-Dry Professionals held the title in 2001.
